SBA Program Boosts Small Businesses And Small Banks.

SBA Program Boosts Small Businesses And Small Banks.

It may be one of the best federal programs you've never heard of.

More than half a billion dollars in federally backed money opened the floodgates for hundreds of Georgia small businesses last year, thanks to an aggressively generous Small Business Administration program that cut fees and increased loan guarantees to 90%.

The incentives were wildly successful, providing a boost for new startups and for the banks themselves.  Nationally, the SBA-backed loans totalled more than 10-billion dollars from October to December.  The Small Business Jobs Act allowed for that three-month extension of the funding rules.
