(WXIA) -- Several Southern states were slammed by severe weather earlier this week, including Lincoln County, Tenn., which experienced a devastating tornado.

Those who want to contribute to the community's rebuilding fund can now do so, simply by eating at Chili's.

On Sunday, May 4, more than 60 Chili's restaurants in Georgia and Tennessee will contribute 10 percent of the day's earnings to the Lincoln County Disaster Relief Fund.

Chili's diners can also make monetary donations by adding extra money to their check totals.

Teens of Excellence Prom Closet Program needs formalwear donations for Male and Female Teens

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- The Housing Authority of Fulton County (HAFC) and the Resident Advisory Board (RAB) want donations of formal wear and accessories for the fifth annual “Teens of Excellence” Prom Closet Program.

HAFC is seeking donations of gently used and clean prom/formal dresses and tuxedoes of all sizes for high school seniors graduating in May 2014. Donations of larger size formal wear are especially needed.

The program seeks to help single parents, grandparents and/or guardians on fixed incomes to provide prom wear without the disappointing choice of saying no to a teen about purchasing formalwear because of limited income.

The formal wear is provided to high school seniors, with priority given to Housing Authority of Fulton County residents. In 2013, more than 250 high school seniors in Fulton County received donated formal clothing to wear to their proms.

As in previous years, items needed for the 2014 Prom Closet include:

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. -- Paul Lewis, a chef at The Pecan Restaurant, was nominated for a Random Act of Kindness by his manager, Cheryl McKinney.

McKinney nominated Chef Paul for acting as a great leader and mentor at the restaurant. When the traffic at Pecan Restaurant picks up and the day gets busy, Paul always remains upbeat. He arrives at work early every morning for setup and stays late into the night.

"Paul is a father figure and go-to person on the staff," says McKinney. "He always makes sure each employee is reaching their full potential, all while bringing out the best in everyone."
