2 teens arrested in Clayton County apartment shooting | Crime
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Police have arrested two teenagers for a fatal shooting at a Clayton County apartment complex.
Clayton County Police Sgt. K.T. Hughes announced Thursday the two suspects -- a 15-year-old boy from Atlanta and a 16-year-old boy from College Park -- were taken into custody and charged with murder and aggravated assault. No names were released, as both suspects are juveniles.
The victim, Jeremy Milbry, was killed Monday at around 9:35 p.m. at the Stonebrook Apartments in the 1600 block of Norman Drive.
Clayton County Police Officer Charlene Watson-Fraser said residents heard gunshots shortly before finding Milbry outside Building 22. He'd been shot multiple times in the back.
Clayton County Police spokeswoman JaQuitta Williams said the victim was part of a group of people that got into an argument with another group. The verbal fight escalated into a physical one, then ended in the shooting. Milbry later died at Southern Regional Medical Center.
Tuesday evening, police distributed pictures of a person of interest -- a young man known only as EJ. They later found and interviewed EJ, then cleared him as a suspect.
Police continue to search for a vehicle seen leaving the crime scene -- a stolen gray Acura RDX with Georgia tag BYL2877.
Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS or Clayton County police at 770-477-3648.
