NEW YORK -- A small electrical fire underneath an X-ray machine at New York City's LaGuardia Airport has caused a brief evacuation of a terminal.
Three Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police officers have been treated for smoke inhalation after the fire under a Transportation Security Administration machine.
Port Authority spokesman Steve Coleman says the fire was reported inside Terminal C on Sunday evening and was quickly extinguished. He says the terminal was briefly evacuated to allow smoke to dissipate and the screening of passengers resumed within an hour.
The terminal is used by Delta Air Lines Inc. and US Airways Inc.
