Man sentenced in 2009 College Park roommate murder | News

ATLANTA -- A man has been sentenced to life in jail for his role in the murder of two College Park roommates in July of 2009. 

According to the Fulton County District Attorney's Office, 26-year-old Christopher Varner confessed his guilt during a plea hearing on Wednesday afternoon. 

A report says Varner shot the women execution-style after robbing them of drugs and money and forcing them to disrobe. The women's nude bodies were discovered by a third roommate. 

The state had been seeking the death penalty in the case, but withdrew their request after the defendant pleaded guilty.
