FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Police have charged a driver involved in a wrong-way crash that claimed the life of a DeKalb County Police officer.

Arimentha Best, 65, has been charged with homicide by vehicle in the second degree and driving on the road side of the roadway in connection with the early morning crash that killed DeKalb County Police Officer Kevin Toatley. 

Best remains in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital. A front passenger in her vehicle, 23-year-old Alexis Best, is in serious but stable condition at Atlanta Medical Center. A passenger in a rear seat, 38-year-old Freddie Taylor, is in serious but stable condition. Juveniles in the car have been treated and released from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. 

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to Fulton County Police Cpl. Kay Lester.
