With an economy like ours, it’s imperative that people look for a bargain wherever they can and public pools offer fun with that’s easy on the pockets. Check out these local pools and enjoy a classic, cost-effective, exciting summertime experience.

Clayton County

Public pools in Clayton County open on June 1. All pools charge a usage fee of $3 for Clayton County residents or $20 for a monthly pass.

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – There are tons of fun events going on this weekend, in your area. We’ve listed a few of them for you to check out with your family and friends.

Come out to the Aberdeen Village Center on Saturday, May 7, for Opening Day of the Peachtree City Farmers Market. The market which was formally known as, Fresh South Market will open at 9:00 a.m. and will close at 2:00 p.m. Aberdeen Village is located at 202 Northlake Drive in Peachtree City.

The city of Peachtree City will host their Annual PTC Spring Cleanup at the Peachtree City Recycling Center. According to the Peachtree City Updates newsletter, “PTC residents can drop off unwanted appliances (Freon removed), furniture, and other junk at the Recycling Center on Rockaway Road. The Recycling Center will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days.

TriCities Run/Walk is fast approaching

TriCities Run/Walk is fast approaching

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. -- Residents of College Park, East Point and Hapeville are invited to participate in the 2nd annual TriCities 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 14.

The race begins on Main Street at Hawthorne Avenue in College Park and ends at the track inside Bill Badgett Stadium. The certified 10K route loops through College Park, East Point and Hapeville, while the 5K winds through Historic College Park.

Register up until Saturday, May 7 to take advantage of the $22 fee, or $20 for children ages 2-14.

East Point, GA-- On April 23, 2011, area businesses will switch out their loafers and heels for cleats, and go head-to-head on the soccer field for the 5th Annual America SCORES Cup Atlanta.  But while they may be competing for first place in the tournament, they'll ultimately be shooting for the same goal - to raise money for a great cause.
